Emily McCauley was born in 1994 and grew up in rural Minnesota.  Her passion for nature and color drew her to the California Bay Area where she studied fine art at Santa Rosa Junior College.  She went on to obtain a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree at Sonoma State University with an emphasis in painting in 2021.  McCauley’s work employs organic shapes, color, and material culture to unpack our modern experience with works on paper and gouache paintings.
